It was the return of the Jumeirah Pairs by The Lounge Spa this month, with 40 pairs competing in the Pairs Shamble event over the Fire Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

Nadeem Masud (12) and Ehtasham Uddin (12) finished two shots clear of the field to win. Their superb score of net 59 (13 under par) won the competition. Masud and Uddin were on a roll picking up seven birdies on the front nine alone. A particular highlight came on the back nine; the pair had back-to-back net eagles, and both contributed.

Deirdre Joan Kemp (15) and Derek Kemp (13) were the runners-up with a great net 61 (11 under par). The couple had eight birdies; net birdies came on both nines, with a special moment on the first where they both successfully made net eagle.

Receiving the third-place prize determined through a count-back was James Harrison (5) and Tanya Harrison (11) with a net score of 62 (10 under par). The couple had three net eagles on their card.

The Jumeirah Golf Estates Golf Operations team organized a Nearest the Pin competition on hole 2; the winner was Irem Aksay (17). Joseph O’Connor, one of the Teaching Professional from the Tommy Fleetwood Academy, set up a Beat the Pro challenge on hole 11. Just two participants from all 40 pairs managed to beat Joe, the winner by way of a draw was Brett Kraetzer (7).

The pairs received an 85% course handicap allowance.

Whilst concluding the prize-giving presentation, Stephen Hubner, Club Manager at Jumeirah Golf Estates, commented, ‘Congratulations to all our prize winners today – the scores reflect the great display of golf played so well done. A particular thank you to our wonderful sponsors of this event, The Lounge Spa. I am sure you will all agree that their involvement truly elevates club events offering fantastic prizes to be won.’
