Arabian Ranches Golf Club hosted the first of the DP World Tour Championship 2022 Luckiest Ball on Earth qualifiers today (Saturday) as part of their Rivoli Monthly Medal.
Andrew Partridge won the top prize in the Rivoli Monthly Medal with a net 61 off an 18 handicap allowance. His handicap has been reduced to 15.2.
Starting on hole 6, in this shotgun start format, Partridge started with a bogey five followed by a birdie four on hole 8. He then played the back nine, holes 10 – 18, in 42 shots including another birdie on the par four, 15th hole.
Partridge then completed his remaining five holes on the front nine for a total of 37 strokes for a gross 79.
Partridge said after his round, “I have never played in the Rolex Pro-Am at the DP World Tour Championship. I am excited to have qualified for the Grand Final. I achieved my best round ever today, breaking 80 for the first time in my golfing career. I have played in the Dubai Desert Classic Pro-Am a few times at Emirates Golf Club, and it would be great to play on Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates with a chance of playing in the Rolex Pro-Am.”

The annual ‘Luckiest Ball on Earth’ competition is open to all golfers who hold an Official Club Handicap recognised by the EGF (maximum 28 for men and juniors and 36 for ladies).
Partridge qualifies to represent Arabian Ranches Golf Club in the Grand Final of the ‘Luckiest Ball on Earth’ to be held at Jumeirah Golf Estates on November 5th, 2022 on Fire course.
The winners from the Grand Final will qualify to form a ‘Team Luckiest Ball on Earth’ in the Rolex Pro-Am to be held on Tuesday 15th November, 2022, the curtain raiser to the season ending tournament on the DP World Tour, the $10 million DP World Tour Championship, Dubai to be held Thursday 17th – Sunday 20th November, 2022.
This is the first of the 19 Luckiest Ball on Earth qualifying rounds in the UAE, which was first introduced to the UAE golfing calendar in 2011.
