Emirates Golf Club hosted the Ladies Amateur Open which saw 37 golfers competing on the Majlis Course.
The overall winner of the Ladies Amateur Open was Lara El Chaib from Abu Dhabi National with a Gross 74. Lara started her round with two steady pars and then a fantastic Eagle three on the long Par 5 3rd. After turning in level par her back nine didn’t get off to the same start as the front, with three bogeys in the first four holes.
But in a true champions display Lara closed out her round by shooting one under par on the last five holes, finishing with a birdie on the last to clinch the title from Runner Up Hannah Cheryl Alan. Alan had a solid back nine of one over par, with one birdie and two bogeys. Third was defending champion Jamier Camero with a Gross 76. Camero finsihed her round strong closing with two birdies to shoot level par on her back 9.
In the Net Division, Anca-Luciana Pirvu from Emirates Golf Club was victorious with a phenonmenal Net 66. Keeping with the trend of strong back nines, Anca a newcomer to EGC, closed her round with a six over par Gross of 43. Runner up was another new addition to the ladies section at EGC, Annabel Ayres with a Net 67. Annabel opening up her round with a Gross birdie on the first hole of the Majlis course. Third was Glory Xavier also from EGC with a Net 70, the highlight of Glory’s round was back to back Gross birdies on holes two and three.
