I made the cut, on the mark, with 11 Modified Stableford points in this co-sanctioned event between the Asian Tour and the Ladies European Tour at the Siam Country Club for this week’s Trust Golf Asian Mixed Stableford Challenge in Thailand.

I have played some really solid golf from tee to green in the opening two rounds this week. I just need to make a few more putts in the last two rounds to put myself in the mix.

I would usually be delighted in making just one bogey in 36 holes, but in this format it’s a birdie fest and I need to go on a run tomorrow.

I checked the scoreboard after play and I am only one of six players in the field of 144 players to have just one bogey on their cards in two rounds, no player is bogeyless.

I started on hole 10 for today’s second round and started with a nice birdie four on my opening hole playing 580 yards and followed it with nine pars. Birdies on holes 2 and 3 and another on 8, my 17th, saw me home safely.

The breakdown of my 36 holes is as below:

Albatross — 0.

Eagles — 0.

Birdies — 6.

Pars — 29.

Bogeys — 1.

Doubles or worse — 0.

Just a reminder of the Modified Scoring format:

Albatross — 8 points,

Eagle — 5 points,

Birdie — 2 points,

Par — Zero,

Bogey — Minus 1 point,

Double Bogey or Worse — Minus 3 points.

The current leader is Chanettee Wannasaen (Thai), who plays on the LET, with 28 points accumulated by rounds of 13 and 15 points, highlighted by two second-round eagles on the two par 5’s, holes eight and 10, which added 10 points to achieve her impressive total.

There are 14 players with 20 or more points, five from the LET and nine from the Asian Tour. My third round tee time is at 10.35am off Tee 10.

Fellow Dubai resident MG Keyser (RSA) shot rounds of -3 and +1 to miss the cut on two points.

Friend of Dubai, Meghan MacLaren (Eng), sits in tied 36th place after rounds of 7 and 8 points.

If anyone is interested in watching us on Dubai Sports Channel, the broadcast starting times are (UAE time):

Friday — From 10.00am.

Saturday — From 10.00am.

See you all soon!
