Dubai: Gulf News subscribers had a first taste of golf in the invite-only event — Get Into Golf at MyGolf Dubai — at MyGolf Dubai in Dragon Mart 2 on Sunday. Twenty five Gulf News subscribers attended the event targeted at non-golfers.

Sam Bahl, MD Business Development at MyGolf Dubai, said at the event: “We are delighted with the turnout today as well as the enthusiasm for all our guests. They have all experienced our pioneer facilities for the first time as well as participating in Golf Clinics hosted by our MyGolf Dubai Teaching Professionals.

Juniors practice session

“At MyGolf Dubai our mantra is to be everything golf for everyone, whether you are a complete beginner, have played a little or even given up and want to return to the game, to the proficient golfer. This initiative has perfectly aligned with our ‘Juniors Practice for Free in August at MyGolf Dubai,’ which begins on Monday.”

MyGolf Dubai is the region’s first luxury indoor climate-controlled golf entertainment centre, that boasts 14 Golfzon golf simulators and offers golf lessons from our five PGA Qualified Professionals as well as access on a Pay and Play or membership package basis, to almost 200 golf courses around the world in its ‘best in class’ friendly club environment.

A worthwhile effort

Santu Dev, User Acquisition Manager — Gulf News, commented: “It is great to see our Gulf News subscribers having this opportunity to enjoy and take up the game of golf at MyGolf Dubai. Its success will be measured by how many of our subscribers sign-up for lessons and other packages. We saw some business being done today. This makes it all worthwhile and we will definitely be collaborating and co-hosting many more of these introduction to golf sessions over the next few weeks.”

Attending the event, Gulf News subscriber Harish Nagrani with his son, nine year-old, Darsh, said: “This has been an excellent initiative today, it far exceeded all our expectations. We live near Wafi, so this MyGolf Dubai in Dragon Mart 2 is just 15 minutes from our home. We were impressed with how friendly and accessible MyGolf Dubai is, and we are signing up for some lessons for both myself and my son to start in September and my son will also attend the Junior Practice initiative at MyGolf Dubai in August. Thank you to Gulf News for making this happen.”
