Jumeirah Golf Estates hosted the recent Park Hyatt Dubai Ladies tournament for members in a Pairs Better-Ball Stableford format over the Fire course.
The event was won by Yulia Golubeva and Marlies Zilkens with a brilliant score of 45 Stableford points. They had six birdies, with Marlies picking up two net eagles on the 9th and 12th holes. The winners dovetailed well together, alternating the scoring of high points throughout their round – a fantastic display of teamwork.
The runners-up were Philippa Stumbles and Trudi McMullan, with a very commendable 41 Stableford points, scoring 19 points on the front nine and 22 on the back nine. There were two on-course competitions up for grabs. Winning Nearest-the-Pin on the 8th hole was Daisy Tuliao, who played a beautiful shot. Jacqueline De Vires won Nearest-the-Pin on the 14th hole with an equally impressive shot narrowly escaping the cup.
Whilst concluding the prize-giving presentation, Evelyn Downham, Ladies’ Club Captain, commented, ‘Congratulations to both Yulia and Marlies on a great victory today.
