Dubai: The 2022 UAE Emirates NBD Race to Malaysia has received reconfirmation of their support from Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) and Dubai Sports Council (DSC) at a recent press conference hosted by Dubai Sports Council.

Russell Yeomans, founder of Sport2Business, said: ‘‘The Emirates NBD Race to Malaysia supplements one of our other existing assets, the annual CEO Corporate Masters. The Emirates NBD Race to Malaysia has exceeded all our expectations to date and we look forward to the event going from strength to strength. It is important that we align with the governing bodies in the UAE, particularly to make it mandatory to have an Emirates Golf Federation Handicap for all our events.

‘‘In this first year of the Emirates NBD Race to Malaysia, we expect over 1,000 golfers to compete in all the 16 UAE Qualifying Rounds, all chasing the five Divisional spots at the UAE National Final held on Saturday 1st October, 2022 at Al Hamra Golf Club, Ras Al Khaimah, to represent the UAE in Malaysia in November.’’

‘‘The event has 27 years of history and tradition and it would be great to see the World Final coming to Dubai in the next few years. There are 46 other countries involved in this global initiative in 2022 and in our opinion, would assist amateur golf in the UAE, globally showcase golf in Dubai and the UAE as well as bring more inwards investment to Dubai,’’ concluded Yeomans.

The format of the Emirates NBD Race to Malaysia is five different Handicap Divisions, with entries open to all men and women, aged 18 years and over, with a maximum EGF handicap of 25 with 95% allowance from a player’s Course Handicap and one player from each Division progressing to the National Final.

The 2022 Emirates NBD Race to Malaysia is powered by Thriwe and sanctioned by the Emirates Golf Federation with sponsors: Aaro, Athletic Drive, BMW AGMC, Accuracy, Msangai Adventure, EGOLF Megastore, Suited & Booted, Papa John’s, Terra Virtum, Brightfox and WETEL TV, and is organised by Sport2Business with support from Dubai Sports Council.
