The Emirates Professional Golf Association (PGA), under the management of the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF), has unveiled an exciting and ambitious schedule for the 2024–2025 season.

The announcement comes off the back of the season-opening event at the weekend, where Sam Mclaren (Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club) led his team to victory in the first Lincoln DG Pro-Am of the season, held on the prestigious Majlis Course at Emirates Golf Club.

The remainder of the season promises a dynamic mix of strokeplay and matchplay events, giving players the chance to compete at an elite level while fostering the growth of golf throughout the region.

The schedule is also likely to offer the 150 PGA-qualified pros across the UAE the chance to play their way onto Challenge Tour events held in the country.

Last season, Tom Ogilvie, a PGA Professional at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, made his Challenge Tour debut after triumphing in the Emirates PGA Play-Offs, earning him an invitation to the seventh event on the Road to Mallorca schedule.

The previous year, Emirates PGA Championship winner Gaughan made the cut at the Abu Dhabi Challenge, competing against a field that featured 19 former DP World Tour champions with a combined 46 top-tier victories.

Kieren Pratt, Emirates PGA representative for the EGF, said: “Following the recently successful Lincoln DG Pro-Am at Emirates Golf Club, the first event of this season’s calendar we are excited with the planned schedule for 2024 – 25.

“We have an extensive calendar of events with a mix of Pro-Ams and Emirates PGA Matches, the latter involving the pros playing in 18-hole Individual Strokeplay events.

“We especially thank all our sponsors and participating clubs for their continued support.

“We are exploring all sponsorship and participation opportunities for this season.

“This year is important for both the Emirates PGA and EGF as we fully bring it under the EGF’s overarching management.”
