The 2023 Emirates Men’s Amateur Open tees off tomorrow (Friday) at Emirates Golf Club with the first round being played over the Faldo Course and the second round on Saturday over the Majlis Course.

The event is played over 36 holes and is sanctioned by the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) and a Qualifying Round for the 2022 – 2023 EGF Men’s Order of Merit.

In the Net Division the maximum playing handicap is 14 and a 95% allowance applied as per WHS guidelines. Round one will be played in Golf Carts and round two is a walking event.

The total field is 124 golfers who will play in fourballs with the first tee time tomorrow (Friday) at 7.05 am from the first tee and the last tee time of the day at 12.45 pm.

A strong international entry has been received from the following countries: Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Germany, India, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal and Wales.

James Nash (Eng) winner of last week’s OMEGA Dubai Creek Men’s Open and based out of Ormskirk Golf Club will attempt back-to-back wins in the UAE.

On the domestic front notable players in the field are Simon Dunn (+5, Tower Links GC), Jay and Sam Mullane (Both off + 5, JGE), Dominic Morton (+3, Trump International), Jake Wiltshire (+4, The Els Club), Bilbo Perrot (+4, JGE), Max Burrow (+4, Dubai Creek) and Arjun Gupta (+3, EGF).
