Dubai: Scott McCarron (US) and Steven Ames (Canada) lead on eight-under par after 36 holes in the $3.25 million Senior PGA Championship at Benton Harbour, Michigan, US, the second Senior Major of the year, set to finish on Sunday.

McCarron and Ames both shot rounds of 68 and 66 with morning tee times, with McCarron boasting nines of 36 and 30 including eight birdies.

Despite a double on the par 3 fourth hole, Ames impressed with seven birdies.
