The DP World Tour this week is in Hamburg, Germany for the $2 million Porsche European Open, week 23 of 44 events on the season long International Schedule.

UAE based players Rafa Cabrera Bello (Spain) returns to Tour, having had a baby with his wife Sofia, and is in the field along with Dubai’s Adri Arnaus (Spain) and Thorbjorn Oleson (Den).

Leading player in the field from the 2022 – 2023 Race to Dubai Rankings is Victor Perez (Fr) in third place, with Dubai resident Adrian Meronk (Pol), currently in fourth, taking a week off preparing for next week’s Canadian Open on the PGA Tour.

Quality events

The PGA Tour hosts another of its $20 million elevated events with the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday, at ‘Jack’s Place’ (Jack Nicklaus) at Muirfield Village, Dublin, Ohio, that has hosted so many quality PGA Tour events in addition to the 1987 Ryder Cup, the 1992 US Amateur Championship, the 1998 Solheim Cup and the 2013 Presidents Cup.

A typically strong field has been assembled including Rory McIlroy (NI), Jon Rahm (Spain) and Scottie Scheffler (US) and a host of PGA stars. Ryan Fox (NZ) plays this week following his recent elevation to Special Temporary Member status on the PGA Tour.

Dubai resident 17 year-old Chiara Noja, who represents Jumeirah Golf Estates, who moved upto a career high of 91 in the Rolex Women’s World Rankings following last week’s tied second place finish in Belgium plays this week on the LET in Sweden starting on Friday. Chiara has played in 13 tournaments this year, and currently stands in fifth in the season long Race to Costa Del Sol LET Order of Merit Rankings.

The Challenge Tour this week visits the Czech Republic featuring Joshua Grenville-Wood (Eng) and Dominic Foos (Ger) both representing The Els Club, Dubai,
