Dubai: Chiara Noja shot final round three-over par 75 to finish overall fifth in the €40,000 Trust Golf Links Series – The Musselburgh GC, Scotland.
The Dubai-based 16 year-old shot a four bogey and just one birdie round that saw her slip after leading with 18 holes to play. Playing partner of Chiara for the final round, Thailand’s Arpichaya Yubol, shot 67 to go with her opening rounds of 71 and 68 for a 54 hole total of ten under par 206, and a four shot victory.
Chiara was out in two-over par, birdied the par three 11th hole, but then had two further bogeys for a back nine of 37. This week’s performance extends Chiara’s lead in the season long LETAS Order of Merit.
She now has 1,639.25 points from her eights events played to date and a 306.5 points lead from second placed Momoka Kobori, from New Zealand, who did not play this week.
A reminder to all that the top six players at the end of the 2022 LETAS Order of Merit will be awarded their full playing privileges on the 2023 Ladies European Tour. Chiara maintains the same margin on top of the LETAS Rookie of the Year Rankings.
The next calendar event on the LETAS is the 54 hole €40,000 Santander Golf Tour Malaga, Golf Torrequebrada, Spain which begins on Thursday (July 21-13) where Chiara has entered.
