Cabrera Bello moves up 8 spots after round 3 of Barracuda Championship in California

Revie leads tournament after shooting a third round of 9 points

Dubai Golden VISA Awardee Rafa Cabrera Bello (Spain) shot a third round of eight points to move up eight spots to tie 38th in the $3.7 million Barracuda Championship at Tahoe Mt Club (Old Greenwood), Truckee, California, US.

The tournament, running parallel with The Open Championship, is co-sanctioned by both the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour as part of their Strategic Alliance.

Cabrera Bello’s round started ominously with bogeys on holes 3 and 5 to slip down the leaderboard.

Strong back nine

Birdies on holes 8 and 9 followed by a strong back nine consisting of a five pointer eagle on hole 12 and a birdie three on his final hole, was only knocked back by a bogey on hole 15. Rafa shot a 69 third round.

Leading the tournament is 40 year-old Chez Revie, who shot a third round of nine points, for a tournament total of 37 points, by virtue of a 67 to take a six point lead into today’s final round.

The Modified Stableford scoring format is as follows:

- Albatross: 8 points

- Eagle: 5 points

- Birdie: 2 points

- Par: 0 points

- Bogey: -1 points

- Double bogey or worse: -3 points

The final round takes place later today, Sunday.
