Dubai: Dubai Golden Visa awardee Nico Colsaerts (Belgium) is attending The 150th Open at St Andrews, Scotland this week to host the world feed broadcast alongside Sam Torrance and Thomas Bjorn on Thursday and Friday and will also feature on the Sky Morning TV show over the weekend.

More good news for 39 year-old Nico is that he is planning his return to golf on the DP World Tour next month.

As a result of Nico’s rare kidney disease, diagnosed in December, 2021, Nico has undertaken intensive three-month rehabilitation treatment at AVIV Clinics Dubai, a subsidiary of DP World. The successful treatment is now coming to an end and the first tournament on Nico’s draft 2022 schedule is the Cazoo Open, supported by Gareth Bale, at The Celtic Manor Resort, Wales to be held from August 4-7 (Thursday-Sunday).

Further tournaments are planned in August at the Czech Masters and the Omega European Masters, followed by participation in the $8 million BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, London, September 8-11 (Thursday–Sunday), a Rolex Series event.

Nico is then planning to defend the Cazoo Open de France and Le Golf National, Paris, a title he won in 2019, his third DP World Tour win of his career. He shot a 12-under par score of 272 with rounds of 67, 66, 67 and 72 to win by a shot from JB Hansen (Den) with George Coetzee (RSA) and Kurt Kitayama (US) third and fourth respective on 10 and nine under par. Due to Covid there was no 2020 or 2021 Open de France.
