England's Ben Jones wins his maiden MENA Tour title in New Cairo. The 23 year-old who plays out of Northamptonshire County Golf Club carded rounds of 66, 71, 68 for a winning total of -8 after a flurry of birdies on his back nine.

The MENA Tour returned to Egypt this week to host the first of 2 events scheduled on it’s Egyptian Swing Series in the 2022/23 season with both events being played at Madinaty Golf Club in New Cairo.

With high winds over the first two days it resulted in a suspension of play meaning players had to complete their second round on the morning of day three.

Jones' countryman Jack Floyd had the joint lowest round of the week. A 64 (-8) in round two to propel himself up the leaderboard. He would eventually finish one shy in solo second after a final round three under par round of 68.

In thrid place was Curtis Knipes alongside Gordan Brixi who finished at four under par for the tournament.

The top 3 placed amateurs in the event were France's Jules Lauer who came out on top over Swede Andreas Weiderman and Egypt's own Mohamed Abou El Ela.

The result gives Ben Jones a winners cheque of  $13,500 and moves him up to 51st on the order of merit, still headed up by four time major winner Brooks Koepka.

As mentioned the MENA Tour stays in Egypt for the second event in their two week swing which is being played between 5th February - 7th February.
