Afzaal Ahmad beat the heat to card eight net birdies and an eagle on his way to winning the Overall Dubai Golf and Viya Golf Medalford with a net 66 at Jumeirah Golf Estates’ Fire course.

Louis Prosser took home the hotly contested Gross Championship, with a score of one under par, 71, despite a strong score of level par 72 from Thomas Stephenson.

Division A was won by David Martin, who shot a net 67, winning on a back nine count-back over William George Burrows. Division B was also decided by a back nine count-back, where Rylan Lee’s net 69 secured him runner-up in the division, to the winner, Manu Chauhan who secured four net birdies in his last five holes, winning on countback.

The high standard of golf also translated into the stableford competition, with Taimur Zafar being crowned the winner with 40 points. Following a slow start, carding an eight on the par 3 second hole, Zafar responded well with 21 points on the back nine, securing him the win.

Ehtasham Uddin was the runner-up in the stableford division, with a very respectable 38 points, following a great run of scoring from holes 10 to 15, securing 16 points in these holes alone.

In the Senior’s Division, Stephen Louis was victorious with a score of net two under par, narrowly beating Anand Rajagopal over a back nine count-back.

Evelyn Downham, 2023 Lady Captain at Jumeirah Golf Estates, was the victor in the Ladies Division, with an impressive net 70, two under par, winning by the largest margin across all the divisions.
