This week, the ladies’ section of Jumeirah Golf Estates played in a high-scoring pairs Accumulator Stableford competition over the Fire course.

Everyone played their own ball with the pairs’ combined net score, counting for the score on each hole. The results were calculated based on overall Stableford scores.

With 73 Stableford points, 34 on the front nine and 39 on the back nine, Sylvia van Der Tol (23) and Deirdre Joan Kemp (17) were the winners of the Accumulator event. Their performance showed superb teamwork, with both contributing well throughout. A particular highlight of the round came after the turn: the couple made 21 points in just a three-hole stretch, with Sylvia finishing this run with a net eagle on hole 13.

Jacqueline Burns (33) and Juliette Castell (35) missed the top spot by one Stableford point. With four net eagles on their scorecard, the couple amounted to a commendable score of 72 points.

Third place went to Lady Captain; Evelyn Downham (18) and partner Sarah Blomfield (20). The couple scored 70 points, 34 on the front nine and 36 on the back nine.

Downham also succeeded on hole 14, where she won the Nearest the Pin competition. Mitsuko Emmerson (11) won Nearest the Pin on hole 8. Emmerson holed out to make a superb birdie.

While concluding the prize-giving presentation, Rory Stewart, Golf Services Executive, commented, ‘Congratulations to all our prize winners today, particularly our winners, Sylvia and Deirdre. The couple worked brilliantly as a team. We look forward to welcoming you back next week for a fun pink ball event.’
