A strong field of 117 players has been confirmed for this week’s 54-hole Jumeirah Golf Estates Men’s Amateur Open to be held at Jumeirah Golf Estates Friday 31st March – Sunday 2nd April.

The 54-hole event is the penultimate qualifying tournament for the 2022 – 2023 Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) Men’s Order of Merit, in addition to an R&A supported World Amateur Golf Rankings (Men’s Division) qualifier. The first two rounds will be played over the Fire course and the final round on Sunday on the Earth course.

Included in the list of entries are seven of the top 10 in the EGF Order of Merit.

Representatives from 12 golf clubs in the UAE plus the EGF in addition to seven players from overseas including; Ireland, India, England and Wales are in the field with 60 from the home club at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

Sam Mullane (JGE), Jay Mullane (JGE), Joe Jones (Wales) and Jonathan Selveraj (Trump International Golf Club, Dubai), all winners of EGF Order of Merit events are in the field.

Tee times for the first round are from 6.35 am until 12.55 pm with play in three-balls.

Stephen Wilson, Golf Operations Manager at Jumeirah Golf Estates, said at the draw publication, ‘We are excited to have attracted such a strong field for our Men’s Open that has both EGF sanctioning and WAGR status. The golf courses are both in superb condition and we look forward to see how the best amateurs in the UAE plus some overseas golfers score over the two golf courses.’
