Rinku Singh gifts sports bike to his father

Dubai: Indian cricketer Rinku Singh has been gearing up for the Twenty20 series against England, set to begin in Kolkata on Wednesday. Amid his preparations, the talented finisher gave his father a perfect start to the week by presenting him with a sports bike.

Rinku, who secured a lucrative deal worth Rs130 million after being retained by the Kolkata Knight Riders, gifted his father, Khanchand Singh, a Kawasaki Ninja 400, valued at Rs500,000.

Khanchand Singh, who once delivered cooking gas cylinders, continues to work despite his son’s success on the cricket field. His humility remains unchanged even as the family’s fortunes have improved significantly.

The family’s joy doesn’t stop there. Rinku’s marriage to Parliamentarian Priya Saroj has been confirmed by Samajwadi Party MP Kerakat Tufani Saroj, Priya’s father.

The three-time MP revealed that both families held “meaningful talks” in Aligarh about the union and mutually agreed to the wedding.

“Rinku and Priya have known each other for more than a year now. They both liked each other but needed their families’ consent. Both families have agreed to this marriage,” Tufani Saroj said. He added that the final details of the wedding or engagement, to be held in Lucknow, will be decided after the Parliament session.

Priya Saroj, 25, is one of the youngest members of Parliament, representing Uttar Pradesh’s Machhlishahr constituency under the Samajwadi Party banner. Before her political career, she practised as a Supreme Court lawyer and earned degrees from Delhi University and Amity University in Noida. She is also an alumna of the Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute in New Delhi.
