Dubai: AGE Steel recorded a crushing 106-run win over Dolphin AEN Cricket Club in the 11th Dulsco Ramadan T20 cricket tournament at Zabeel Park yesterday.

After winning the toss and electing to field first, Dolphin AEN got off to an ideal start when they dismissed an opener for nought. But from there, it was all downhill as the AGE Steel batsmen feasted on some loose bowling.

Fayyaz Ahmad hit three sixes and two fours in his 17-ball 36, but it was Mohammad Arif who stole the show, smashing 75 of only 25 balls, clearing the rope nine times.

A quick-fire 26 from Mohammad Nadeem at the death took AEN Steel to an imposing 209 in 20 overs. Mustafa Ratlami was the most successful bowler for Dolphin AEN, claiming three wickets for 42 runs.

Dolphin AEN then lost their openers cheaply, so Murtaza Mogul had to rebuild the innings with a patient 43 of 48 balls. When he was dismissed, Dolphin AEN lost four wickets for 21 runs. Steel’s fast bowler Abdul Gafour wiped out the tail for figures of four for 14 to end the Dolphin AEN innings on 103.

Fares smashed a dozen fours and a six in his 65-ball knock and Patil thumped 10 fours and three sixes in his 54-ball stay at the crease. Adgas were bundled out for 82.

Mohammad Azam pummelled an entertaining 127 to give Mulk Holdings a bright start against Etihad Flyers in Group A.

Qazi Ayoub and Qasim Zubair shared six wickets between them for United Bank Limited (UBL) to make a winning start in Group B.

Amjad Ali, another member of the UAE’s tour to the Netherlands, hit 85 not out for UBL to put up 186 for three against Robt Stone, who were dismissed for 150.

Ibsons overcame Al Maha Travels by 19 runs to make it two-out-of two in the same group.
