Emirati twins Al Hanof and Baby Tahnoon at 00.30 am at Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Fady Georges Hachem, Consultant - Obstetrics and Gynecology, said: “As a Doctor, it is always a great feeling to play a significant role in bringing new life into the world. It becomes all the more special when it coincides with a special occasion such as this one. I am also very happy that mothers and babies are in good health, and I would like to extend my wishes and blessings to the parents of the newborns.”

Yosef Salem Ahmed was born at Medcare Women and Children, Dubai, 20 seconds past midnight, to Manar Matar and Salem Ahmed. The Emirati child weighed a healthy 3.135kg.

Another Emirati baby, Hamda Ahmed Abdul Raheem, was born at 17 minutes past 12 this morning in Medcare Hospital Sharjah. She weighed 2.5kg.

Meet Salem Mubarak and Salma Esmaeel Mubarak who welcomed their baby boy on the first day of the New Year. Weighing about 3.5kg, baby Khalifa was born minutes after midnight at RAK Hospital. Speaking on the occasion, the baby’s father Salem Mubarak said: “I chose to call him Khalifa after our president, and for us this baby, like our two other sons is a blessing, Alhamdulillah. I don’t know how to express my happiness, but there’s no denying that we have begun the new year with a very happy feeling”.

Seconds after the fireworks went off announcing the start of 2020, Baby Joseph was born Bareen International Hospital in Abu Dhabi. He arrived at 00:00, weighing in at 3170g, to Syrian parents - Romeo Sheha and his wife, Sally Hanna Habib.
