Sharjah Girl Guides (SGG) concluded its annual Spring Program. Brownies, Guides and Senior Guides engaged in art-themed and outdoor activities in keeping with the organisation’s mission to impart a wide range of creative and practical skills to its members. It was organised in collaboration with Sharjah Art Foundation (SAF) under ‘Your Spring with Us’.

During the Spring program, members participated in art-themed activities designed to nurture their appreciation of art and enhance their creative abilities.

Guides paid a visit to SAF’s art galleries and exhibitions, where they explored the creative expressions of famous artists.

They also participated in a series of workshops on fashioning flower bouquets using commonly found household materials.

The Spring program also included various interactive and hands-on activities for Brownies, Guides and Senior Guides including sports, cycling and archery. SGG members of all ages also attended a lesson in outdoor survival skills, including the procedures and methods that should be followed to protect people in dangerous situations. In a team-building workshop, the girls worked together to assemble rafts using wood and ropes.

Commenting on the event’s combination of entertainment and education, Shaikha Al Shamsi, Manager of SGG, said: “The three-day Spring program was full of fun “edutainment” activities that the girls thoroughly enjoyed. The event was an opportunity for them to experience and appreciate the beauty of art while also developing their own skills. Our brownies worked on 50 unique and stunning art pieces during workshop.

The SGG Manager added that the Scouting activities promoted the values of cooperation and communication, aligning with SGG’s strategy to foster a generation of responsible young women who can navigate life’s challenges confidently.
