The UAE flag was lowered for over three hours from 8 am at different venues, including government and private premises, across the UAE on Wednesday morning to mark the Commemoration Day. Commemoration Day is held every year on November 30 in recognition of the sacrifices the UAE’s martyrs gave to perform their duties to the homeland.

Dubai Customs held the “Martyr’s Day (Commemoration Day)” ceremony today, which is marked annually on 30th November.
The ceremony started with lowering the flag to half-mast and observing a moment of silence at the main building and customs centres.

Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, participated in a prayer on the souls of Emirati martyrs at the Ministry of Defence, in appreciation of the sacrifices of the nation's righteous martyrs, on the occasion of Commemoration Day. Al Rumaithi was joined by Mattar Salem Ali Al Dhaheri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, in addition to a number of the Ministry's military and civilian personnel.

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA)marked Commemoration Day at its Head Office, where Mattar Al Tayer, RTA's Director-General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, and several CEOs and Directors, hoisted the state flag. Attendees observed a minute of silence and prayed for the souls of the nation's righteous martyrs to mark Commemoration Day, which is celebrated on 30th November each year.
