In Photos: Over 10 million worshippers visit Prophet's Mosque since start of Ramadan

The Prophet’s Mosque in Saudi Arabia’s Medina city received more than 10 million worshippers since the start of Ramadan, state news agency (SPA) reported.

The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has gone above and beyond to ensure that the worshippers at the Grand Mosque receive the best possible services during their pilgrimage. The provision of packets of the holy Zamzam water is just one of the ways that the Presidency seeks to make the experience as comfortable and fulfilling as possible. Additionally, multilingual guidance is provided to accommodate the diverse backgrounds of the worshippers and make sure that everyone feels welcome and included. To ensure the safety of the thousands of children who make the pilgrimage every year, the Presidency distributes tracking bracelets that can help prevent them from getting lost amidst the throngs of people.

During the holy month of Ramadan, which began on March 23rd, the Grand Mosque experiences a surge in visitors as it marks the peak season of Umrah. The faithful gather around the sacred Maqam Ibrahim and pray in unison as they encircle the Kaaba - the holiest shrine of Islam. The second Friday of Ramadan is particularly significant, as it brings together countless worshippers from around the world who come to Mecca to deepen their spiritual connection and seek divine blessings. Amidst the bustling crowds and the palpable energy of devotion, the Grand Mosque remains a place of sanctity and solace for all who visit during this auspicious time.

Saudi Arabia has issued an advisory to all Umrah pilgrims, urging them not to carry large sums of cash or expensive items when travelling to the Kingdom for the lesser pilgrimage. In a Twitter post, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah recommended that pilgrims refrain from bringing gold bullion, precious stones, and other valuable metals, and to carry no more than $16,000 (SAR 60,000) in cash.
