In the new decade, Asian countries have firmly established their lead on the Henley Passport Index with Japan and Singapore holding on to their first and second places in 2020.

The UAE passport, however, is the biggest climber on the index in a decade - coming up from rank 65 in 2010 to rank 18 in 2020. The UAE climbed a remarkable 47 places over the past 10 years with a current visa-free/visa-on-arrival score of 171
