Dubai: On April 15, 2020, the UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) revealed the top five smart phones that offer the best services in terms of data download, data upload, latency, email send time and video quality.

Data download: The best phone for downloading data on the du network was the ZTE Axon 10 Pro. The ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G was recognised as the first 5G smartphone available in Northern Europe, the Middle East and China. Meanwhile, the best phone for downloading data on Etisalat was the Huawei Mate 20X, which was the second 5G phone to go on sale in the UAE after the ZTE Axon 10 Pro.

Data upload: Apple iPhone XR. For both du and Etisalat networks, the TRA said that this phone was the best phone to use indoors while uploading data. The phone’s display has rounded corners that follow a curved design, and these corners are within a standard rectangle. When measured as a standard rectangular shape, the screen is 6.06 inches diagonally, although the actual viewable area is less.

Latency: This category ranks the best phone with the least amount of latency issues. Latency is the time it takes for data from your device to be uploaded and reach its target. The best phone for the du network was the Samsung Galaxy J7, according to the TRA. For Etisalat, the phone with the least amount of latency issues was the Samsung Galaxy S10.

Email send time: The Apple iPhone X was the best phone for du and Etisalat networks. Equipped with Face ID that uses a TrueDepth camera system made up of a dot projector, infrared camera and flood illuminator, users can also securely unlock iPhone, enable Apple Pay, and gain access to secure apps and many more new features.

Video: The Huawei Mate 20X was the best to use with Etisalat, while the Huawei P30 was ranked as the best provider of videos with the du network. The TRA is not only responsible in regulating telecom operators, but offers various services related to consumer protection, allocation of scarce resources (spectrum and numbers), and the interconnection of licensee´s networks to ensure that customers can reach other subscribers regardless of where they are and whom they are getting their services from.
