“Due to the weather conditions, hotels have slashed their prices to entice UAE residents and European tourists to book a staycation,” said Godfrey Lopez of Uranus Travel. “These discounts don't mean staycation deals are running dry - they are doing better by 50 per cent compared to the previous year.”

Rahesh Babu of musafir.com said that the most popular staycation destinations on the Palm and Yas Island have also reduced prices by 30-40 per cent. Deals for two guests per night during Eid Al Adha are priced between Dh1,000 to Dh1,800. Hotels in Yas Island are priced slightly on the higher side from Dh1,800 to Dh3,000.

Yas Island properties has launched a new package for summer - where two kids under the age of 12, accompanied by two paying adults can stay for free in the same room booked with the parents and play for free at Yas Theme Parks, Kart for free with every session booked at Yas Marina Circuit, and dine free on the same meal plan as the parents.

Meanwhile, in the northern emirates, staycation deals are winning over European travellers. With competitive pricing, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah are definitely scoring this summer, say travel agents.
