1983 - Six men died and 62 people were injured when Armenian terrorists blasted a Turkish airlines desk at Paris’ Orly airport. Public Security Secretary of State Joseph Franceschi said 22 of the injured, most of whom were Turkish, were in serious condition. The bomb went off in a piece of cabin baggage at the desk in the airport’s southern terminal as passengers queued for a flight to Istanbul. Eyewitnesses said the terminal was jammed with passengers who fled screaming to the exits as windows shattered and thick black smoke billowed through the building. Many were badly burned by the fire caused by the blast.
