Dubai signs Silicon Oasis project

2003 - Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority signed an agreement with the American firm CH2M Hill International Ltd to prepare a masterplan for the Dubai Silicon Oasis project. The contract for the masterplan, which will be finalised this year, was signed by Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Dubai Silicon Oasis chairman, and Robert Sheh, CH2M Hill president. In a written message on this occasion, General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Defence Minister, said the project reflects the future outlook for Dubai and the UAE in their quest for universality through technology and knowledge economics. Shaikh Mohammad directed Dubai Silicon Oasis to appoint an advisory board.
