Dubai: A series of cultural activities are being held at Dragon Mart 2, to celebrate the UAE-China Week.
The three-day programme of events organised by Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), started on Thursday and will continue till Saturday.
According to a Dubai Culture official, a number of traditional activities are being held in Dragon Mart 2 as part of ‘UAE China Week 2018’, to strengthen ties between China and the United Arab Emirates and promote cultural exchange between the two countries.
During the three-day event, which is takes place from 4pm to 10pm, Dubai Culture participates in a heritage pavilion and distributes heritage gifts to visitors. The event also includes traditional folk performances, such as Al Harbiya, the Liwa, and Al Ayyala, which attracted a large number of visitors.
In addition, Dubai Culture representatives demonstrated Arabic hospitality by presenting coffee and dates to visitors and explained the methods utilised in preparing Arabic coffee.
Dubai Culture aims to enhance Dubai’s cultural scene and draw attention to the emirate’s rich heritage with a variety of initiatives that will take place throughout the year. The authority’s mandate is to build bridges of constructive dialogue between different civilisations and cultures through enriching initiatives that benefit Dubai’s citizens, residents and visitors.
