Dubai: If you have just passed out of high school, you may be looking to start putting the basic processes in place to start your new phase of life as an adult. From applying to universities to trying to get a driver’s licence, there are many tasks that are a rite of passage for a teenager transitioning into adulthood in the UAE.
The UAE’s Ministry of Interior (MOI) has a special package for high school students, which helps them transition and take up new responsibilities a lot more easily.
What is the MOI high school student package?
The package, called ‘Services for high school students’, is directed at high school graduates. The package is being offered for the fourth year in a row for high school graduates for the academic year 2020-2021.
The package includes:
1. Opening a traffic file
As getting a driving licence is extremely helpful in setting students up for university life, the package includes the option to easily open a traffic file, which is a service offered by MOI, after which a driving licence file is opened.
2. Police clearance certificate
As many students might consider studying in another country, one of the documents required is a police clearance certificate.
3. Fazaa discount card
The ‘Fazaa Student Card’ offers a variety of offers and discounts at universities, libraries, restaurants, shopping centres and cinemas. It covers more than 4,200 brands at more than 10,000 locations in the UAE. All you have to do is to present the card to avail the discount.
4. Setting up a bank account
Students also get exclusive banking services from Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) to open accounts. The bank has a special service of opening of accounts easily, with an option to win prizes as well.
How can I access the service?
Students can access the package through the ‘MOI UAE’ app – which is available for Apple and Android devices.
To register yourself as a user, you will simply need to provide your Emirates ID number along with your mobile phone number.
Once a student has logged in to the MOI application, the package will appear as a service which they can enroll for.
