It's the curse of women everywhere, but help could be at hand to battle the dreaded “orange peel'' look...
The jargon
The Marie France Bodyline Bio-Thermie Plus treatment employs Mono Polar Radio Frequency (RF) waves to deliver energy deep into the fat cells, improving the skin's tightness, dissipating cellulite and reducing the appearance of stretch marks.
As RF heat is generated, fat cells are dissolved and the collagen network is “remodelled'' to eliminate the “orange-peel'' appearance by up to 80 per cent.
The treatment claims to stimulate fibroblasts to produce denser collagen networks, which results in newer skin and an increase in skin elasticity.
It is suitable for the thighs, buttocks, tummy and arms and is good as a postnatal treatment.
The treatment
As I lay face up on the table, the therapist used an exfoliating scrub on my tummy and thighs.
This was followed by the application of nano cream to allow RF waves to penetrate the skin.
Turning me over, the therapist placed the RF probe on my right thigh and as it moved in a vigorous, upward motion, the area felt warm and I felt a tingling sensation.
After the therapist had worked on my right thigh for 15 minutes, I noticed my bottom seemed to have been lifted.
The procedure was repeated on my left thigh before I turned over and the therapist focused the probe on my tummy for 20 minutes, moving it in an upwards and circular motion.
This was followed by vigorous upward strokes on the upper thighs for a further 30 minutes.
The therapist then massaged the treated areas with a body cream that enhances the slimming effects of the RF technology.
Results
My bottom felt firmer and the orange-peel appearance on the back of my thighs was reduced. My skin felt tighter and there was less overhanging skin around the knee area.
