Brooke Shields,the 80s CK star, on her modelling comeback

Brooke Shields is the latest face of mytheresa.com’s latest edition of ‘Women’, which essentially sees cool women (like Shields and Alexa Chung) wearing cool clothes (insert #cool here). A muse to Man Repeller, Brooke is a vet of the industry, having started modelling before her first birthday, although it was arguably that fairly controversial Calvin Klein advert in the 80s that sticks in the mind, something she realises would be harder to pull off now.

“When I was younger, I was shielded from whatever controversy that surrounded my work,” she tells the Guardian. “But today, people can tweet you, Facebook you, comment on any number of social media platforms which is harder to be shielded from.”

All of which suggests she won’t be shoehorning herself into her CKs any time soon.
