Organisers of an upcoming comedy and musical show have confirmed the list of performers after one singer denied being part of it.

Indian singer Rekha Bhardwaj tweeted on Tuesday she was not a part of Laugh Dubai Laugh, to be held in the city on October 17.

“This is to let you all know in Dubai that I’m not part of any show in Dubai as reported by Gulf News,” Bhardwaj tweeted, adding: “In fact, I am surprised and shocked to see the news someone’s posted on twitter.”

tabloid! contacted Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), organisers of Eid in Dubai, which the show is a part of, who said that the singer, known for her Bollywood hits, Namak Ishq Ka (Omkara) and Ghagra (Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani) is still a part of the line-up.

“The stand up comedy show, Laugh Dubai Laugh, is one of the diversified events that are part of the calendar of events of Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Adha 2013 celebrations and is organised by a third party. As of now, we haven’t received any official communication from the organisers informing us of any changes in the event,” a spokesperson from DFRE said.

Orbit Events, which is organising the specific show, also insisted on Bhardwaj’s participation.

“We have confirmation from Shvate Kaul, Rekha Bhardwaj’s manager, that she’s definitely performing. He confirmed Rekha has received the payment and her passport copy and her travel details have already been submitted. She is definitely coming on October 17,” said Pragna Vaya.

Kaul did not answer repeated calls by tabloid! for a comment.

Laugh Dubai Laugh, which will also feature Indian comedian Raju Srivastava, will take place at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Shaikh Zayed Road, Dubai, on October 17 at 9pm.
