Glen A. Larson, a writer and producer behind such TV shows as the original Battlestar Galactica, Knight Rider and Magnum, P.I., has died.
Larson’s son, James, said on Novemeber 15 that his father died on the evening of November 14 at the University of California, Los Angeles Medical Centre of complications from oesophagal cancer.
Larson was nominated three times for an Emmy and once for a Grammy for his success in creating and writing shows that dominated TV screens in the 1970s and ’80s.
He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1985.
In addition to his small-screen talents, Larson was also an accomplished singer who once performed on The Ed Sullivan Show and helped write or compose several hit songs.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie, a brother and nine children.
