Italian visa information is now just a call away

Italian Consulate General in Dubai has set up a dedicated call centre for people seeking information about its visa services.

The call centre, which opens at the Etisalat Contact Centre in Ajman, will be functional from today and will cater to callers from throughout the UAE.

"We have outsourced our visa information facility to benefit applicants as they can get information about tourist and business visas, get forms and even set appointment to apply for visas," said Sandra Sandra Vitale, Attaché Visa Section at the Italian Consulate.

She said the consulate decided to have a dedicated call centre because it was receiving hundreds of call every day involving visa inquiries.

"We have already started witnessing a rush for visas much before the start of summer vacations," she said.

Junaid Azeem, account manager at the Contact Centre, said there would be 30 dedicated telephone lines. He said the caller could even request the visa forms faxed to him free of cost.

"They can save their time and money. We will also give appointments for applicants," he said.

However, he clarified the callers will be charged Dh1.80 per minute. The call centre will provide information in English and Arabic on telephone number 700014444.
