Visiting Copper Chimney in Dubai will remind you of visiting an Indian restaurant in a community centre in a residential area in the US. Going by Dubai's traditions of keeping things over the top, this restaurant from Mumbai has found an unusually quiet place to open its first outlet in the UAE at the Emirates Hills Town Centre. The restaurant proves to be a spot of tranquillity in an otherwise bustling mall.

The exposed red brick walls and subtle, soothing lighting give it a comforting home-like cheer. The hundreds of different-sized cowbells, the embossed metal handicrafts and woven wall panels from India give a hint of old-world charm. The show-kitchen concept works well too, as the chefs keep you entertained while you wait to be served.

A special touch

A restaurant may have the best of ambience but it is happening, more importantly, because of its food. And we weren't disappointed. The extensive traditional North Indian and North West Frontier Province menu has been given the subtlest of signature touches by the restaurant's chefs. Choose from a mouth-watering variety of kebabs, curries, breads and desserts, many of which are prepared in-house.

The restaurant accommodates 80 guests at a time and also has a private dining room, ideal for family gatherings and casual parties. Though it may be located a little out of town, it's worth a visit on a lazy afternoon or for a family dinner. Or, if you live in Emirates Hills, Meadows or Springs, just call for home delivery.
