Iftar of the day: Shabestan, Radisson Blu Hotel

Shabestan is just the place you would want to be after long hours of fasting. Delicious Iranian cuisine accompanied by the cosy atmosphere and Persian tunes played live by the Iranian band are just perfect.

Iftar at Shabestan is suitable for both families and business gatherings, and the live music and soft lighting give a warm feeling to the restaurant. Waiters are cheerful and eager to offer you a taste of everything that Persian cuisine offers.

Once you walk in the restaurant, you’ll notice the refreshing smell of freshly baked bread. You are then welcomed with a basket of the hot bread just out of the tandoor oven that will see you demanding more throughout the dining experience.

Creatively presented appetisers, including tabbouleh-filled cherry tomatoes, aubergine and hummus, will get you ready to experience the delicious main courses, including tender platters of meat and chicken served with white rice, along with shrimp — a dish that is not to be missed.

You may be tempted to spend a longer time enjoying main courses, but make sure you don’t get too full, as desserts are on the way, and Shabestan’s sweets are just too good to be missed. Spoil yourself with the delicious sweets served, including muhallabia, creame caramel, and a wide selection of cakes and pastries available if you did not already fill yourself with the Persian faloodah, made of frozen noodles immersed in rose water, an ice cream that tastes better than any other.

The Deira creek view completes the experience.
