Dubai: With just a few days left for the New Year to begin, UAE destinations are pulling no stops when it comes to giving 2023 a grand farewell.In Dubai, 32 locations have permits for fireworks shows, and authorities have inspected the arrangement for over 45 fireworks shows, the emirate’s Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) said on Tuesday.

Residents are in for grand and record-breaking pyrotechnics across the country for New Year’s Eve (NYE) – from the longest fireworks show in the region (an incredible 60 minute-long display), to the world’s ‘longest chain of aquatic floating fireworks.’If you’re still planning your NYE night out, here’s where to go for amazing displays.

BURJ KHALIFA: The most popular display in this part of the world is definitely the annual NYE fireworks at the world’s tallest building. This year, Burj Khalifa's New Year's Eve display is set to be bigger than ever - with 325 strategic firing positions and 15,682 pyrotechnic elements.

AL SEEF: The waterfront promenade is set to have celebratory fireworks counting down to midnight. The destination is also hosting the Al Seef Creek Festival with live entertainment, offers and the region’s tallest festive tree.

DUBAI FESTIVAL CITY: Book your spots (Dh100 for adults, Dh50 for kids) in advance for the countdown to the New Year with Festival Bay’s 5-minute-long fireworks and IMAGINE show. Guests will also experience a 360-degree fireworks performance when standing in Festive Bay, synchronized with lasers, fountains, lighting, fire, and projection elements.

ATLANTIS THE PALM: The iconic Atlantis arch will be one to watch on December 31. The property is set to host Sting for a NYE concert as well. RIVERLAND: Dubai Parks and Resorts will have two fireworks displays on December 31, at the family-friendly timings of 7pm and 9pm. You need to pay Dh15 to enter Riverland - which can redeemed on F&B - unless you are an Annual Pass holder or park ticket holder. There will also be laser shows at this destination.

CLUBS AND RESORTS: Emirates Golf Club is also going to be having a NYE-special fireworks display for paying guests. Bab Al Shams Desert Resort, Jumeirah Golf Club, Sofitel Dubai The Palm Resort, Arabian Ranches Golf Club, Club Vista Mary The Palm, The Royal Palm Hotel, Palazzo Versace Hotel Dubai, The Address Montgomerie Hotel, and One&Only Royal Mirage Hotel also have displays planned.

GLOBAL VILLAGE: Visitors to this destination can enjoy seven displays throughout the last day of 2023, concluding the displays at 1am on January 1, 2024. The last one will be based on Turkey time. The other displays will coincide with New Year in China, Thailand, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and UAE.
