GNTV videographer trainee Asma Mohammed shares her experience at Dubai Aqua Park, an inflatable water park open now at Dubai’s The Beach, near Jumeirah Beach Residence.

How was the experience?

It’s fun but at the same time it’s challenging because you need to be aware of the fact that the floating park is slippery, especially if you just came out of the water. And you will keep on slipping into the water, no matter how hard you try, because it’s in the water and there’s no way for you to be dry. You need to have balance, but even balance is not enough. It’s more fun to do with friends than as an individual.

How about the obstacles?

You need to be fit. That’s the most important thing to survive the obstacles for half an hour and to keep trying to get through the obstacles. It’s in deep water and you have to swim for about five minutes to get there. Your feet don’t touch the bottom, but you have a life jacket on. I felt secure as there were lifeguards.

What’s the hardest part?

The hardest part is climbing and holding on to the different obstacles. Sometimes you need to climb some of the obstacles so you can actually get to the other side. Other times you need to cross the gaps in between the partitions and you could just slip and fall into the water. But it’s a floating waterpark and that’s the point. You’re going to fall and get back up again — accept it, that’s the fun of it.
