Infamy can sometimes be just as important as reverence when it comes to influencing the masses. Amir was considered perhaps the most prodigious bowler to have ever been produced by Pakistan — a claim attested to by Wasim Akram; a legend of the game who previously held that post. Amir was vilified in front of the world for match fixing, even serving a few months in prison. Though the ordeal has been a blight on the career of one of the best young talents in the game, it serves as a stark warning to upcoming players. He has been banned for five years, though most hope to see him on a pitch again someday.
