Could it be true? Could Carrie Bradshaw and her posse of lovely ladies be trawling Dubai's famed malls in the Sex and the City sequel?

After the movies' writer-director and executive producer Michael Patrick King was spotted front row at the Harvey Nichols spring-summer fashion show on Monday night — it would seem the answer is yes.

While the Emmy Award-winner was coy about his visit to Dubai, suggesting he was in town visiting a friend (that old decoy), our sources tell us he's actually here scouting locations. After all, SJP has already tipped that the next installment would be a romp, and what better destination than the UAE?

New York-based jewellers Roberto Faraone Mennella and Amedeo Scognamiglio, who made their names on SATC after stylist Patricia Field fell in love with their designs, bumped into King at the Park Hyatt Hotel earlier in the week.

They were already set to be the store's guests of honour for the fashion extravaganza and so invited him along to share the front-row view.

We hope he was impressed, because tabloid! can already see the opening credits now... the Chrysler Building replaced with the Burj Dubai, Brooklyn Bridge swapped for the Business Bay crossing.

If our city does get the eventual nod for the next movie, let's hope UAE audiences get to see it on the big screen.
