Last month, South Korean superstar Kim Soo-hyun found himself at the center of controversy surrounding his alleged relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-ron, who passed away in February. For weeks, he faced a barrage of serious allegations, including claims that they had dated when she was a minor and that he pressured her to repay debts.

These accusations led to Kim Soo-hyun being dropped by several brands, and his upcoming Disney show Knock-Off was indefinitely stalled. Additionally, new revelations surfaced regarding his 2017 film Real, where he and the production company were accused of pressuring actress Sulli into performing intimate scenes. The actor finally gave a press conference where he tearfully denied all the accusations.

Although the public uproar has somewhat subdued, the situation took a new turn recently when Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, GoldMedalist, issued an official statement on April 15. The statement addressed the ongoing circulation of 'malicious posts' and 'false information' about the actor, revealing that the agency had filed a legal complaint against those responsible for spreading harmful and unverified claims.

According to the agency, these 'malicious posts' include baseless rumours and speculative content, which have been shared repeatedly across online platforms, leading to damaging misconceptions about Kim Soo-hyun and tarnishing his reputation. The agency emphasized that these actions—ranging from personal attacks and sexual harassment to defamation—are considered serious criminal offenses.

GoldMedalist also condemned the behavior of "cyber wreckers" who exploit anonymity to spread fake news and incite online bullying through videos and posts. In response, the agency has partnered with overseas legal representatives to pursue legal action against foreign platforms, such as YouTube and X (formerly Twitter), where much of the malicious content has been disseminated.

Meanwhile, Kim Soo-hyun’s fan support groups have flooded social media with posts defending the actor, calling attention to the unfair nature of the allegations and expressing confidence that justice will prevail. However, supporters of Kim Sae-ron remain resolute in their pursuit of justice for the late actress, continuing to demand accountability in the case.
