Urdu, the language of poets and Indian kings, is enjoying a moment.

Fans of the lyrical tongue are making an attempt to revive its dipping popularity by staging edutaining productions.

UAE-based group Bazm-E-Sukhan is the latest to curate a two-hour show, Main Shayar To Nahin, under the direction of Danish Chotani at Safa Community School, Dubai, on September 29.

The show aims to highlight the current state of the language with satire.

Bazm-E-Sukhan is a group of Urdu poetry enthusiasts from the Indian subcontinent based in the UAE.

Entry to the show, which starts at 7.30pm, is by invitation only.
