Celebrity debutante

Julia Montes is clearly on her way up. Star Magic will be hosting a star-studded celebration for her when she turns 18 tomorrow. She will be wearing three gowns made by local couturier, Pepsi Herrera, and will dance with the most important ABS CBN male stars, including Richard Gomez and John Lloyd Cruz, among others. And her escort for the night? It’s none other than Coco Martin, with whom she was paired in the hit TV series, Walang Hanggan. Montes is still hoping against hope that her estranged father will come. Her biological dad is a German national, who unfortunately left her and her mother when she was still a baby.

Zuleta, Gomez reunion

Dawn Zulueta has revealed that she and her former screen partner, Richard Gomez, will have a reunion film project this year. The two were last seen in a movie together in Iisa Pa Lamang (Only One) in the ’90s. According to Zulueta, the duo had a successful reunion on TV via the soap series Walang Hanggan and will soon be seen in a romance-drama flick later this year. Production is scheduled to start after the May elections, where Gomez is running for a government post in Ormoc, a province south of Manila. Zulueta, meanwhile, is busy with her drama series with Gerald Anderson on ABS CBN, whose film arm Star Cinema will be producing the reunion project.

Guzman launches album

Actor and singer J.M. de Guzman successfully launched his second album under Ivory Records entitled Tensionado (Tensed). De Guzman, who has not been seen on TV of late because of alleged drug problems, said the album was his way of pouring out his emotions during his bout with depression. He admitted that he got emotionally and physically drained from the dramatic roles he portrayed in soap series and decided to focus on his singing career. He also denied having drug problems.

Delos Reyes, Pineda still involved

Still okay. That’s what young actress Louise delos Reyes says of her relationship with actor Enzo Pineda during a press conference for her new TV programme Mundo Mo’s Akin (Your World is Mine). The show pairs her again with Alden Richards. Delos Reyes denies she and Pineda are having problems because of Richards, whom she considers just a friend. She also denied allegations that her mother is not in favour of Pineda. She admits though that they’ve been having misunderstandings of late, but assures no third party is involved on either side.
