Palestinian pop star Mohammad Assaf met his UAE fans on Thursday at an event at Oasis Mall on Thursday. Assaf, the brand ambassador of value brand Max Fashion, was there to launch the label’s autumn-winter collection.

He told Gulf News tabloid! in an interview that he will be releasing a new song from Palestinian folklore called Deheye soon. He is also scheduled to hold several charity concerts in the coming months as part of a tour that begins in Canada.

While he did not specify the dates for his Canada tour, which will include five concerts with proceeds going toward supporting children in need, he said his US tour would be held this December and will raise funds for charity, too.

The singer, who just launched his latest album Ma Wahashnak, won the Arab Idol show in 2013. The same year he was named a goodwill ambassador for peace by The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
