Barbie Forteza’s surprise nomination

GMA teen star Barbie Forteza was herself surprised when she was told she was nominated in the Best New Female Recording Artist category of the 6th PMPC Star Awards for Music to be held next week. Known more as an actress, the teen star tried her luck in singing last year, releasing her self-titled debut album to modest success under MCA Music. Forteza, though, is not keen on producing a second album, after her first was recognised with a nomination by members of the media, who are behind the Star Awards programme. She said she would rather concentrate on her acting career.
