Allen Dizon’s international recognition

Allen Dizon was surprised when he received word that he won the Best Actor award at the 9th Harlem International Film Festival held in New York City recently. The actor, who has appeared in sexy, romantic films during most of his career, considers the award a levelling up of sorts for his career. Dizon is trying to transition into a more serious actor, and has received a number of local awards for his acting talent in recent films. He went to New York to personally receive the award for his role in Magkakabaung (The Coffin Maker). A self-confessed tennis enthusiast, Dizon also made the sidetrip to Flushing Meadows to watch Roger Federer watch the US Open.
