Pakistani singer Haroon returns with a new track Cha Jaa

After teasing a musical collaboration with “a secret singer” on Instagram, Mehbooba-famed pop singer Haroon finally dropped a brand new banger, featuring Aima Baig.

Titled Cha jaa, the fast-paced track is said to be the theme song of an upcoming animated series, Planet Champs, which talks about environment protection.

It marks Haroon’s return to music after a gap of 12 years. In a descriptive note on his social media account, the former Awaz band member explained what had kept him busy all these years.

He also compared Cha Jaa to his earlier song, Baba Bandook, from the Emmy-nominated and Peabody-winning animation series, Burka Avengers, saying that he wanted to “create something similar.”

The video, which premiered on February 14, has already got 224k views on YouTube. It shows Haroon and Baig in superhero avatars “fighting villains who pollute the planet.”

The highlight of the video is the animation part, which is created by Haroon. Interestingly, Burka Avengers was also Haroon’s creation. It became a phenomenon, sparking a second season. Later, Haroon went into a musical hibernation, only to return recently with Cha Jaa.

In the end, Haroon called Aima an “incredibly talented singer and an amazing performer, just what I needed for this song.”
