Who’s in it? Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby, Lena Headey

The plot: Set 800 years in the future in an America where the population is addicted to Slo-Mo, a drug that makes time move at one per cent of its normal speed, this film follows futuristic lawmakers Judge Dredd (Urban) and rookie Judge Cassandra Anderson (Thirlby) as they take on slum drug lord, Madeline Madrigal (Headey). Fans of the comic (and in fact, everyone) will be pleased with this gritty, proudly B-movie adaptation, which has plenty of gutsy action and lashings of self deprecating humour and satire.
